The Shopaholic

Dinna is a shopaholic. She is otherwise known as an oniomaniac since technically oniomania means the compulsive desire to shop. She rationalizes though that she is not a complete shopaholic, just a make-up shopaholic. I met her during one of the nights of Philippine fashion week cause she was a writer (like me).(I actually feel like Im bering disrespectful here since she's a full time journalist for the Manila standard and Im just this newbie, so lemme change that to: cause like her I'm a writer). She showed me her bag which was a bit bigger than usual bags but smaller than the bag I had with me. Suprisingly though, her bag was a lot heavier. The reason being she had a big make-up kit filled with all sorts of make-up accessories.
Just before the dinner she had to stop at Marionnaud to check out the supposedly latest addition to her collection - the MAC black lipstick. which I personally think isn't for the tender ones, I mean its just too much for them to handle. Anyway her friend Gianna tells me that her addiction gets so intense that sometimes during a meal, she excuses herself to go to the washroom only to return with a paperbag and something new inside it.
I find Dinna funny. And while I'm not condoning shopaholism, I do believe that she has the right to purchase the things that make her happy. After all, she works hard as a writer to earn the money she uses when buying make-up.

one down, 182 more to go. And i think it's weird that I started on the last day of the month.
